Tips for Home Buyers
Here’s the truth – you’re about to spend a LOT of money.
This isn’t something you do every day, so you need someone you can trust. I know this community like someone knows their oldest friend, and I’ll be more than pleased to help you find your own little corner of it to call home.
When you hire me, we aren’t just building an important part of your future - we’re building what I hope will be a lasting relationship. Here are some helpful tips for home buyers (I’m a big fan of Tip #1!)
Find a reliable, knowledgeable realtor that you connect with.
- Buying a home is the biggest purchase you will ever make. Having someone work for you who you trust, is reliable, who you feel comfortable with and who will work as hard as they can to help make your home buying experience a great one is a very important part of the entire home buying process.
Know your budget and shop within it.
- It’s important to know much you can afford when purchasing a home, looking at homes that are above your budget could cause disappointment and frustration. Be realistic and practical, there’s a home out there for you in your budget.
Get pre-approved for your mortgage.
- Having this taken care of before you start shopping for a home and putting an offer in on a property will give you confidence and make the buying and negotiating process much smoother
Don’t forget about:
- Closing costs, lawyer fees, home inspections and land transfer tax are just a few costs that many people forget about when purchasing a home. Be informed and consult your realtor for information on potential extra costs.
